About the Opportunity

A growing North American manufacturer specializing in sustainable climate solutions and custom air treatment systems is expanding operations with the launch of a new technology headquarters in Mesa, Arizona. This organization is focused on innovation, advanced manufacturing, and energy-efficient solutions that contribute to reducing environmental impact.

As part of this continued growth, the company is seeking a Materials Supervisor – 2nd Shift to support manufacturing operations and lead material flow activities across the production floor.

Position Overview

The Materials Supervisor – 2nd Shift is responsible for overseeing material flow operations to ensure uninterrupted support for manufacturing activities. This role will coordinate inventory movement, replenishment, and production material handling processes while driving operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of material handlers and collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Receiving, and Inventory teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise second shift material handling and production support activities
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines and staging areas
  • Monitor replenishment processes to prevent shortages and production interruptions
  • Coordinate daily priorities with Production, Planning, Receiving, and Inventory teams
  • Ensure FIFO processes are consistently followed within warehouse and production staging areas
  • Support inventory accuracy through proper scanning, transactions, and material movements within ERP/WMS systems
  • Enforce material handling safety procedures and warehouse operational standards
  • Support cycle counts, inventory investigations, and root cause analysis for discrepancies
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness across warehouse, supermarket, and lineside areas
  • Drive process discipline for material movement, replenishment, and production support activities
  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop material handling team members
  • Manage shift staffing, scheduling, and cross-training initiatives
  • Track and report KPIs related to shortages, inventory accuracy, productivity, and material flow performance
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to support operational efficiency
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, materials, or logistics operations
  • Strong knowledge of material flow processes, inventory control, and ERP/WMS systems
  • Experience supporting production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and inventory control practices such as FIFO, Kanban, replenishment systems, and cycle counts
  • Experience with barcoding, RF scanners, labeling systems, and inventory transactions
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Forklift certification or related experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools, including dashboards and KPI tracking
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-growth manufacturing environment
